Is your stash calling your name? Do you have Christmas gifts that have to be sewn? Love to sew but tired of looking at your sewing room walls? Need some motivation to get back to sewing or to finish a specific project? Do we have the answer to all your needs! Come to SewTreat for 3 days of sewing, visiting with friends (new and old), and having a great time.
We don’t do classes or formal group projects. Everyone brings their own sewing projects. You can sew as much or as little as you want. You will be inspired by the projects others are working on and all are happy to show what they are doing and how to do it.
Think about it. 3 days—from 9AM on Thursday to 4PM on Saturday–to do nothing but sew. You don’t even have to clean up beyond making sure you didn’t leave any pins or needles afterwards.
SewTreat is held at Highland Lakes Baptist Camp, just south of Monrovia, Indiana. The camp provides 3 meals a day, lodging with linens, and a cutting table. Each sewer will have a 6 foot table and we supply several irons. You will need to bring your machines, personal lighting, fabric/notions, and anything you need to make your sewing easier… because if you have to zip out to get something you forgot, it is a long zip.
There are 2 constraints to the camp. The parking area and the space leading to the building we sew in is gravel and on an incline. There will be wagons available to help haul but the footing can be difficult depending on the weather. The second constraint is the building we sew in…it is older and is closed up during the winter, which may be a consideration if you have respiratory issues.
The camp is beautiful in the fall. It is on a long ridge out in the woods and they have several outside seating areas to just sit and relax. We invite you to join us for 3 glorious days of sewing, socializing, & relaxing. Register early because we always fill up. SEWTREAT 2018 Registration
